Twilight

Hearth

Deep connection at dusk.

Amidst the rumble and groan of everyday life, you’ll find a twilight sanctuary atop a dormant volcano. This is a place to let time stand still as the worries of the modern world dissolve into the fading light.

Your weekly living hearth

Every Thursday evening, atop Maungawhau / Mt Eden

The Twilight Hearth is for those who like beautiful things and meaningful conversations.

An ever-evolving weekly gathering, rooted in community and crafted for curiosity and exploration. Each gathering begins with a grounding meditation, followed by discussions, storytelling, tarot, and other reflective practices. The structure adapts each week, reflecting the needs and rhythms of those present, offering a steady place for personal and communal growth.

Allow yourself this moment of connection and ease.

    • Opening meditation

    • Group conversations (questions/prompts provided)

    • Insights from tarot and the current seasonal cycle

    • Stargazing if the weather allows

    • Closing meditation and howl!

Note: We meet at the lower carpark/roundabout on the mountain and walk together to the view point.

    • Every Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm.

    • We leave the meeting spot at 6 sharp.

    • The Twilight Hearth is subject to weather cancellations. Please book early to receive updates.

  • If you are not familiar with the mountain then please follow these instructions to find us on time:

    1. There are many dead end roads that Google maps may send you to - please use this exact maps link to find the main entrance:
      https://maps.app.goo.gl/wQYZ24KJnQBNbdNw5

    2. You’ll need to park on the main street before reaching this exact maps link as gates close at 7pm

    3. Please allow enough time to find street parking and walk to the meeting point.

    4. We’ll meet at the lower carpark/roundabout on the mountain beween 5.50 and 6 pm (same link as above).

    5. We will not have time to wait if you are late. Do not follow the steep road to the top carpark or walk up the mountain to find us.

Please note that it will be dark when we leave - you may want a torch/headlamp to assist with the return walk.

  • Twilight Circle is run through koha/donations.

    • You can pay whatever you like but we do ask for a minimum of $5 to cover our costs whilst still making the space accessible.

    • If you can comfortably afford to do so, anything upwards of $10 - $15 is appreciated!

    • If you’re a regular attendee, feel free to adjust your payments to ensure you can come as often as possible.

    • You can either pay by card when you book or select ‘cash on the day’ to secure your spot.

  • The Twilight Hearth is subject to the weather so dress warm and bring a rain coat!

    Please also bring:

    • Water

    • A headlamp/torch

    • An extra blanket if you like to be cosy!

    • A warm drink if desired

In cases of heavy rain predictions, those who have booked will be notified of cancellation and refunded.

  • Why are these held outside in winter?

    • Simply put, nature is beautiful all year round and winter evenings have a richness to offer that too few people get to experience.

    • Plus, sunsets are longer and the colours are deeper (google it if you’d like to know the science behind this).

Group social spaces are difficult for me, can I still attend?

    • Yes! We’ve built a safe and supportive environment to connect and express yourself without any force.

    • Introverts will have all that they need to feel welcome and able to speak without competition or high expectations.

    • Extroverts will in turn be given a chance to slow down and practice listening! (This has been my journey and I’m very grateful for it)

Your events are difficult for me to access or attend (for any reason), do you offer other event types?

    • None that are easier to get to/connect with, however, there are many other connection focused events that I can happily recommend that may be better suited. - Feel free to email logan@connectionforthecurious.com if you’d like some help!

Note: bookings close one hour before each start time to ensure location updates are sent out in time.

Community requires action, and curiosity needs stimulation; this is the place to bring your innermost self to life.
